Each member of the NBK is expected to follow the rules of conduct and membership requirements listed below. Members who can not follow these simple rules and requirements should make sure that the door doesn’t hit them in the ass on the way out otherwise their departure from the NBK is sure to be an unpleasant experience.
Generally speaking, there is really only one rule in the NBK... don’t hinder or interfere with the growth and development of the NBK group of societies and its members. The 17 "rules" below are some of the ways people have done it in the past.
General Rules of Conduct:
1. Never beg for money or items.
2. Do not continually whine or complain.
3. Be respectful to society members and Leadership
4. Don't do things that would cause people in the Entropia Universe to complain.
5. Don't lie, cheat, or steal from anyone in the Entropia Universe.
6. Conduct yourself in a way that will earn respect for you and for the N.B.K.
7. Report any misconduct to society leaders A.S.A.P.
8. Report errors and typos on this website to muttley@TheNBK.com.
9. Don't post internal society related information on an open public forum.
10. Do not express your frustrations about another NBK member in the open forums for the whole Entropia Universe to see.
11. Never, ever criticize another NBK member on a Public Forum or in the “All Chat”.
12. Generally have an optimistic attitude.
13. Don’t create or spread rumors that could potentially damage the NBK or its members.
14. Don’t engage other members in a personal argument in the society chat or in the forums, move the debate to some type of private chat or private message.
15. If you are unable to resolve a dispute, take the issue to a NBK General if you both can no longer coexist.
16. Frivolous arguments such as "who’s country, religion, or politics are better" are not permitted in the society chat.
17. Swearing is allowed in the society chat as long as its not every other word or directed towards another member in a demeaning, hostile, or confrontational way. We have members of all ages, nationalities, races, and both genders. You should be aware of their potential sensitivities but at the same time the NBK is not a kindergarden... Just use good judgment.
About The Rules of Conduct
We have these rules because some people in the past have lacked the common sense to just understand not to do these types of things. We are here to play the game, not enforce rules. The NBK has a direction and a member can do one of three things: come with, stand still, or get in the way. If someone gets in the way they will be pushed out of the way. Rule infractions will be dealt with if it creates a problem for the society. We understand that if a rule is absolute then it is inherently unfair in some situations, which is why we handle things on a case-by-case basis.
If you are a sane, rational, reasonable, and respectful individual then you wont have problems, but if logging on, playing the game, and getting along with others is too much for you to handle then perhaps you should look for something other then the NBK.
Chipping Out Skills
We discourage chipping out skills. Skills are one of the single most important things in the Entropia Universe and should only look to sell them when you plan to never use them again. If you do decide to chip out some skills, be aware that you may be asked to retest for your rank or even move back down to a lower society in our family.
Conflict Resolution
If you encounter another member who is acting in a way that is unacceptable do not assume that you have the right to openly criticize them, you are not the NBK police. If you do have a problem with another member you should send them a private message and try to resolve the issue with them. You should not approach them in a hostile matter because this will only create more problems and it will put you at fault as well. If a NBK member is acting in a severely disruptive way, a Colonel does have the authority and capability to boot that person however, if the situation can wait then the issue should be deferred to a General.
Entropia Universe Forum Guidelines
The open forums can be a rough place, only post your opinion if you can handle criticism because you are certain to get it, especially if it is regarding a controversial topic. You are permitted to get into disputes, conflicts, and debates with non-NBK members about non-NBK things on the forum however if you take it too far and cross a certain line then you could risk your NBK membership. Often times other forum members from other societies will demand that we boot a certain NBK member because they upset someone. We will automatically side with the NBK member as long as they aren’t too far out of line. Each matter brought to our attention will be handled on a case-by-case basis. You need to remember that the open forums each have their own rules and the people who own and run some of those forums take it seriously.
The NBK private society forum on www.entropiaforum.com
This area was created to give NBK members an open platform to communicate with all members of all of the NBK societies. We ask that you craft your messages in a tasteful fashion and do not use this area to hash out your personal issues.
The Entropia Forum as a whole is a critical and vital tool to the NBK and it is also the central hub of the Entropia Universe. If you get yourself banned from the Entropia Forum there is nothing we can do to help you. In order to maximize your Entropia Universe experience, we highly recommend that you remain a member in good standing on the Entropia Forum, as a result, you should always treat others with respect.
NBK Membership Requirements
These requirements apply to all NBK societies. Please consult your General or other society members for specific requirements of each NBK society.
All members holding the rank of "Private" or higher must maintain an up-to-date member info section in the society terminal. The following must be listed: Entropia Forum name, Professional Standing, total skills, and the date it was last updated.
Keep the Member Info section updated. Members must update this at least once per month and always remember to include the date it was last updated. If you will be inactive for an extended period of time you must specify that in the Member Info section that way we don’t think you are totally inactive. If a member does not update his/her info for 2 months in a row they will be deemed inactive and can be dismissed from the society unless it is otherwise noted in the Member Info section.
***Important***
The Member Information section at the society terminal is a tool that all of the NBK Leaders use to determine skill progress, and promotion eligibility. We also use it to root out inactive members. If you are deemed inactive and removed from the society because you forgot to update the member info section then please reapply for membership at the society terminal, your application will be accepted.
It is also very important that you list your Entropia Forum name in the Member Info section at the society terminal, this way NBK leadership and other NBK members can send you communications while you are off line.
In the Entropia Forum you must complete the following information in your public profile: Full in-game name and the NBK society that you are a member of. We highly recommend using a name on the Entropia Forum that is at least similar to your in-game name.
